The
AIST promotes the quality
and safety in the transportation of youth.
It involves individuals, organizations, associations and private
enterprises
or public corporations, at the local,
national or international level,
who are committed directly
or indirectly to youth transportation.
It is a non-governmental,
non-profit making, international association for youth.

The
issue of safety in youth transportation is so important that it requires
that we collate the various steps undertaken by people who are preoccupied
with this problem as well as the expertise of many organizations from
different countries. That is why the Association Nationale pour les Transports
Educatifs de l’Enseignement Public (ANATEEP, France), l’Association du
Transport Ecolier du Québec (ATEQ, Canada), la Fédération Belge des Exploitants
d’Autobus et d’Autocars (FBAA, Belgium), la Federaci6n de Trabajadores
de la Ensenanza de la U.G.T. (FETE-UGT, Spain), as well as the AAA Foundation
for Traffic Safety (United States) created the Association internationale
pour la sécurité du transport des jeunes (AIST).
COMMON GESTURES
The AIST encourages the exchange of
information and experience sharing between the organizations and contributes
in the development of reliable transportation to the benefit of youngsters
across the world. Furthermore, it influences politics and government decisions
as well as the public opinion, while providing technical assistance to
the national or international organizations. The AIST arouses and supports
any legal activity that could have a bearing on the development and maintenance
of safety in youth transportation. Finally, the AIST collaborates with
the organizations of developing countries with regards to all initiatives
seeking the safety in youth transportation.
French, English and Spanish are the official languages of this Association.
PROFILE
OF THE MEMBER
The persons, organizations and enterprises wishing to become a membre
of the Assocition may do so by selecting one of the following membership
categories : Regular membre-individual, Regular member-legal entities
and Associate member. A regular member-individual is any person who endorses
the goals and objectives of the Association. This person has a right to
be convened to the general meetings, to speak, vote and act as a comittee
member. A Regular Member - Legal entities is an association, organization
or enterprise whose goals and objectives are compatible with those of
this Association. The Regular member - legal entities can come from two
différent categories, depending on if its activities are local or regional
wide or if they are national or international wicle.Two representatives
of a Regular member - legal entities have a right of speech and to vote
at the general meetings. An Associate Member is a person or legal entity
that provides products or services related to youth transportation and
who endorses the goals and objectives of the Association. Each of its
two representatives has a right to be convened to the general meetings
and may be authorized by the chairperson to speak, but cannot vote nor
act as a committee member.

SERVICES
The AIST periodically prepares and
distributes a magazine exposing the main measures projected in a variety.
Every year, the Association organizes days study in a different country.
These meetings aim to know topicality of the school transport of the country
host and to exchange with the actors of this activity.
It also provides its members with an information bank to enhance the knowledge
of its members and promote the regrouping of these members.
